Meet Alix Bailey Louis CKs Ex-Wife And Accomplished Painter

Louis CK’s Ex-Wife Alix Bailey is an accomplished American painter who gained notoriety following her marriage to the renowned stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and filmmaker. 

Alix was born in Washington, D.C. in February 1967, and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, and Italy. Both of her parents were painters, which greatly influenced her own interest in the field. 

She received her education in painting at Bennington College and later earned a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University, where she studied alongside notable artists such as Sidney Tillim and Pat Adams. 

She is now a member of the non-profit art gallery, The Painting Center, located in New York City. Her work has been featured in various galleries and exhibitions in New York, Italy, and Connecticut.

In addition to painting, Alix has also dabbled in acting, with roles in films such as Tomorrow Night, Searching for Nixon, Spooky Steakout, and Pootie Tang. 

She and Louis CK met for the first time at a New Year’s Eve party in Boston when they were both 18 years old, and he proposed to her five minutes after meeting her. They reconnected 15 years later and began dating, eventually getting married in 1995. 

They have two daughters, Kitty Szekely and Mary Louise Szekely. Louis CK has won multiple Grammy Awards and is widely considered one of the best stand-up comedians of all time.

After being married for 13 years, Alix Bailey and Louis CK decided to end their marriage. They acknowledged that they were unable to bring happiness to each other and attempted counseling for a year without success. 

Alix currently resides in Greenwich Village, Manhattan with her daughters, where she continues to pursue her career as a painter. 

Louis and Alix have joint custody of their daughters. Louis has since remarried actress Pamela Adlon, while Alix has chosen to remain single and focus on her painting and raising her children.
