Bryce Harper is an American professional baseball player and TV personality, best known for playing as a right fielder for Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball (MLB) starting in 2019. Before that, Bryce played for Washington Nationals for 7 years, making his debut on April 28, 2012, at the age of 19. This made him the youngest position player in an All-Star Game after he was selected for the 2012 All-Star Game. The same year, he also won the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year Award and became the youngest person to do so.

After he was chosen as the first overall selection in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft by Washington Nationals, he had to switch positions from catcher to outfielder. His contract was worth $9.9 million for a period of 5 years with a $6.25 million signing bonus.
